Third Day of Construction

After two days of very difficult and demanding roof work, we have now moved to plastering the inside of the homes.  In teams of two, we tackled seven homes.  We sifted the sand to be used in the stucco and helped deliver the prepared cement.

Strategy meeting ;)
One of the beautiful homes we are working to complete.

  1. It's mind-boggling to think that an entire family lives in that house; it's actually embarrassing to think about our own homes, the wasted space and our feelings of entitlement to get more when we already have more than enough. We are all learning so much from the work that you guys are doing, and I am sure that it is only the beginning of a lifelong awareness that is best learned by doing exactly what you are doing in Chevuru. Hopefully the cloud cover is helping with the heat, because it sure looks like you are all working very hard. Love and miss you so much, Lannie Shea! XO!!!
