Beautiful People of Chevuru!

  1. I'm guessing that all of the kids are no longer thinking about bringing home a goat or a monkey. They are now probably thinking about bringing home one of the local kids! I imagine they are becoming very attached to these children.... Is today your last day in the village? If so, enjoy your excursion for the next two days!

  2. ha ha! I was thinking the same thing! What a great way to start my day - looking at all of those beautiful children, seeing the great smiles, and feeling inspired by the work that all of you are doing. I imagine it is not going to be easy to say good-bye to the people of Chevuru.

  5. We loved the photo's! The connections you all are making are so evident in those pictures of you with the villager's. I hope you all make sure to take pictures of yourselves in these surroundings and along with the people you have come to know! Andreas we are all missing you. Nikoletta texted me this morning to make sure I saw the picture of you with your adorable little friend. (Echoing mr. Clarke here, although some of the kids are pocket size you can't bring any home!)Also, all the ladies at church were so excited to hear about your trip on Sunday... they just said that we need to tell you not to go on the roof! Enjoy the last few day. Smile, hug and snap those photos. Can't wait to hear the stories behind them all!

  7. I am truly speechless. The way that you have touched these beautiful people of Chevuru--probably does not compare to the way these people & the wonderful village to the way that they have touched your heart & impacted you forever. Cherish all of these moments- as Mrs. Edwards said--you will have these memories for the rest of your life. What a gift you have been given!! Thank you to each & everyone of you for giving a small part of the world, a piece of you. They will always remember your kindess!! You have made such a difference in their lives!!! I can't wait to see the pictures of the closing ceremony & the knitty bears. I can only imagine how emotional it will be & so hard to leave this Village--(now you know how we felt when you left...lol). Enjoy your last few days there. Looking forward to the pictures & stories!!
