Our First Circle in India

As many of you know, on every Infinity trip, we end our day in Circle.  Circle is a time where we share with one another all that we are feeling regarding what we have experienced during the day.  At times, it can be quite emotional.....and other times quite funny.  It is where we pull together as an "Infinity family" and express ourselves in a very safe environment.

Tonight's circle was wonderful.  The students mostly talked about the extreme poverty they witnessed.  They also were very impressed with the lovely clothing and honored traditions.  We closed Circle early as we are very tired and need to rest for our big day tomorrow!

  4. How you were all upright after two days of travel, I do not know. I'm exhausted from it and I've barely gone half way across Aquidneck Island, much less the world! It's wonderful to see the pictures...Dad will be especially enthused about the naan, Col! We miss you sooooo much but know that you will have an amazing journey and make a small corner of India a better place during your visit. Happy Valentine's Day (even though yours is over by now)!! We love you! Looking forward to seeing the sights of India through the eyes of our wonderful Infinity Volunteers!! XOXO

  5. OK, so I didn't really cry when the bus pulled out of the Clements parking lot, but I got choked up when I saw these photos! I am so proud of Alanna and all of these great kids and chaperones. Dan and I have both been to India, and although we were both terrified to let our first child go so far away without us, we both knew how incredible and life-changing the experience would be. The texts and photos are a blessing, and I find myself running to my phone every time it bleeps and looking at the blog multiple times a day. I really felt Alanna's absence when I only set two places at the eating counter for breakfast yesterday and today- I think in terms of threes when it comes to children! :) On the flip side, Kyla loved stealing an outfit out of Alanna's closet today without having to ask for permission! Niall, who wouldn't admit to it openly but loves his big sister more than he loves soccer (and that's a LOT!), said it was "weird" not to have Alanna around. They are learning so much from watching their big sister help change the world! Take care, and keep the updates coming! XO
