It is 6:30 a.m. here and I am about to wake everyone up from well needed rest. Today we will have a light breakfast here in Gudivada and jump on the bus to head to Chevuru! We are so excited to meet the families of this village. There are 60 families in all. For the next week, we will spend all of our days with them......we will work side by side to help finish the construction on their homes.
Although I am realizing that schedules are merely a "suggestion" here in India, this is what our day should look like.....
8:00 Depart for village
8:45 Opening ceremony in the village
10:30 Construction begins (tea (chai) will be served throughout the work)
1:00 Lunch and rest til 2:30 as this is the hottest part of the day
2:30 Construction work
5:00 Casual time with the children. Time to play a game of cricket perhaps?
6:30 Dinner with the village
7:30 Return "home"
8:30 Circle
I will post lots of pictures today as it appears my internet issue has been resolved!
